3 Things Fanfic Writers Love

  1. Engagement

Hearing from readers is a rare treasure, and leaving a fanfic writer (especially one who gets next to zero comments) feedback is a good way to make their day worlds better. Even something so short as a “Loved this!” is amazing. We adore hearing about specific things that led you to express your happiness, but if you don’t want to share, we’re okay with that too.

  2. Time

Just spending a few minutes reading a fanfic writer’s work is encouraging. Seeing that hit count climb is amazing , and we love to know our work is getting out into the world and making a difference, even if that difference is only for one person. Contributing to the well-being of one reader is worth every second of work, every moment of self-doubt, and every effort to put words on the page.

  3. Consideration

Whether you’re a fanfic reader or writer, giving due consideration to a body of work—especially our work—is something we love. Mentioning something from past posts, no matter how small, tells us you’re engaged enough to remember what’s happened in the past and that you’re likely to continue paying attention in the future. Of course, we won’t make you stick around, but we’re thrilled when you do.
